Translating Perfume Into Words: Writing About An Unseen Artform
The aim of this workshop is to discuss the correlation between the publishing and the fragrance industries. What are the difficulties of writing about an invisible and incredibly subjective art form? What are the effects that the varied forms of perfume journalism might have on the market?
The Chairman will be the esteemed Michael Edwards, fragrance expert and author of "Fragrances of the World".
The Panel will include:
- Mark David Boberick, Editor In Chief and Managing Director, "The Perfume Magazine"
- Elena Knezhevich, Founder, "Fragrantica"
- Denyse Beaulieu, "Grain de Musc" blog and author of "The Perfume Lover"
- Claudia Stagno, journalist, "Export Magazine"
- Grant Osborne, Founder "Basenotes"
- Joe Garces, CEO of Robert Piguet
- Mariangela Rossi, journalist "Elle Italia"
- Sergey Borisov, "GQ Russia", "Vogue Man" Russia
The roundtable will take place on Friday, March 30 at Esxence: The Scent of Excellence in Milan, Italy.
The panel will explore the correlation between the publishing and the fragrance industries. Topics will include the difficulties of writing about an invisible and incredibly subjective artform, as well as the effects that the varied forms of perfume journalism might have on the market.
We at The Perfume Magazine have found this a particularly interesting topic for some time and recently explored it at length in last month's Cover Story by Global Expert Marian Bendeth, "The Proliferation of Perfume Communication."
The Perfume Magazine is one of 5 Web Media Partners sponsoring the event. The Perfume Magazine will also report news leading up to the event and will bring you live coverage from the roundtable discussion and other events at Esxence: The Scent of Excellence.
